The aspects of the song that are typical to the subcategory trap which is based in the genre

hip hop.Amines ’flow’ in REEL IT IN is widely used in many songs of the same genre. He regularly switches up the flow after each chorus or even in the middle of the verse. The flow can depend on many things but often on the lyrics and the BPM of the instrumental.Amine also often vocalizes before the chorus and the ‘drop’.modern hip hop songs often can have multiple drops. This can often be to show the melody and a buildup to either a chorus or another verse. The artists flow and beat often work hand in hand with each other, sometimes, the artist has a very unique flow and can be identified by it directly.take a listen yourself https://www.deezer.com/track/539850772?utm_source=deezer&utm_content=track-539850772&utm_term=1820508962_1547813218&utm_medium=web

Genre-Hip Hop

Song-Gun Lean (remix)-Ft  Russ splashMs BanksLethal BizzleTazeLDDigga D

Although this song is Hip Hop,the style is completely different to old school or trap, this type of hip hop is predominantly based in London, particularly south, south west and south east London. This type of music is commonly known as drill, there are multiple types of drill,Chicago drill,London drill etc.although they are in the same sub genre of drill, they all have similarity. All drill music is commonly circled around gang violence, money made from illegal business (selling drugs, car robbery etc) and bragging about sex and the opposite gender.

Although these similarity’s are spread around the whole drill sub-genre,there are still many differences between different types drill. The main differences is the Instrumental, flow and topics.

The aspects of this song that relate it directly to UK/London drill is a mixture of things. This things include little details that directly relate it to a drill song such as the bass line, the BPM and the aggressive sound. To create this aggressive type of sound,Drill producers normally used violins, pianos, organs, violas and cellos. All these instruments are played in a minor key.Furthermore,Producers generally use a harder baseline and bass boost certain areas to create a aggressive feeling in the listener. Thus, creating a effect on the listener,in my opinion the recent rise in knife and gun violence in London is due to this genre of music brainwashing teens to get into the wrong things.

The lyrics in this song generally change depending on the artist and their personal experiences.Sometimes for a person who has never listened listened to drill or been around youths, some lyrics can be hard to understand as there is a lot of lingo that is widely used around youths and gangs.Words used in this song that might not be instantly understood might be: 1.Gun lean:A dance move which involves you moving your shoulders one by one sideways vertically, commonly used in drill music videos.2.Dead:When the artist says “dead” they do not actually mean dead as in loss of life, they mean boring or no interesting.3.striker,this word is used to mention a shooter, this is normally a member in a gang that has a gun that they use to attack other gang members,an example of this word in the song is “Passenger seat yeah, that’s my number one striker”

Although there are many negatives surrounding drill music there are yet some positives,in my opinions drill music can be viewed as a art.Further explanation for this opinion could be that every verse has something called a punch line, this is a lyric that generally has a deeper meaning than what is read, sort of like a reference, some references can link the reader to a specific memory that can be humorous in some ways.An example of this from the song is Digga Ds line “you aint been in the hood like robin”in this line he is referencing robin hood and how hes wearing a hood.

i have created something like this myself and added my own effects and vocal edits on audacity, take a listen

Song- -skrillix-genre-EDM

this song is very unique and personally a milestone in EDM music, some people might categorise it in different genres such as moombahcore, complextro or even electronic rock.In my opinion i think its a EDM song due to its layout. It starts of with a subtle intro/buildup using a electric guitar, this instrument is most commonly related to rock and punk music, thus people might categorise it as electronic rock as it uses a mixture of synthesizers, electric drums, electric guitars and sharp vocals

as the buildup expands, the main ‘riff’ (a short repeated phrase typically used as an introduction or refrain in a song) is more or less pushed in very sharply and is separated from the intro by a extremely sharp vocal and a slight pause before the bass ‘drop’.The slight pause intensify the whole ‘drop’ (A point in a music track where a sudden change in the beat or bass line occurs.)

The riff is sustained by the constant drum beat that keeps the whole drop in time.In some electronic songs, the riff and intro and outro have different beat, this is sometimes done so that the listener has multiple mood changes in the song, such as-intro(excitement,intensity)-riff 1/drop(‘hype’,extreme euphoria, sudden mood change to happiness and bliss)-cool down(intensity, preparation for the next drop.)

12 bar blues

the 12 bar blues are a series of chord changes that are ultimately repeated in a 12 bar chord progression, thus being called the 12 bar blues.we had a go at trying the 12 bar blues in class but had some trouble keeping time!Next time i try and play the 12 bar blues i will try and make sure that i can keep in time and adapt to changes in the bpm.We must remember that ‘bar’ is in sense a unit of measurement.A fun fact is that the 12 bar blues are actuelly the most popular chord progression in popular music. An example of this is C.jam blues, take a listen https://www.deezer.com/track/105965294?utm_source=deezer&utm_content=track-105965294&utm_term=1820508962_1553095339&utm_medium=web

Song-Yonkers-Tyler the creator

in this song,it can be classified as a different sub genre in rap.The song revolves around Tyler the creators multiple alter egos and how they each have their own side to thing.Think of Tyler as the sun and Wolf Haley, golf Wang and ace as the planets, they revolve around him and control him. This song can be seen as Tyler the creators emotions poured out into a song. Each personality is trying to do something to Tyler or to the people around him.His first alter ego,Ace,is always trying to kill Tyler,Tyler could be implying that Ace represents the suicidal side of him,the side that is most controlling to cause harm to himself,a cry for help almost.Golf Wang is Tyler another one of Tyler alter egos,Tyler quotes that golf Wang is a spoonerism of wolf gang,Golf Wang is Tyler inner voice and also a fashion and merchandise brand that Tyler runs.

The last and final ego,Wolf Haley,Tyler and Wolf battle throughout the song. Tyler being suicidal also says that he wants to kill Wolf apart from himself. Ace also wants to kill Wolf, but Wolf is getting them success so they need him. Tyler proceeds to say “fuck the fame and all the hype,” contradicting Wolf.Wolf is the person Tyler wants to be as quoted here “This Wolf Haley guy is the guy that I really want to be. He’s fucking–he’s just wild. He doesn’t really–he’s just fucking crazy.”

The song consists of a repetitive drum set in the back ground while being layered with some bass (played in minor chord) and then at the chorus, the same drum pattern but this time layered with some sort of synth, highly modify and produced sound, most likely tuned with a little bit of overdrive in it and ‘golf Wang’s’ voice in the background, slow and deep to create the sort of ‘edgy’ and ‘demonic’ sound Tyler was looking for.

vossi bop-stormzy-uk grime

this song is in some ways Stormsy’s comeback as he hadn’t made a song before this in around 9 months and in some ways of him making a solid slide in to the UK music scene.he has changed his flow and the beat is slower than usual,in this song he brings up the fact that even though has been away for some time, now that hes back hes stronger than ever, and in the meanwhile while people where hatting he was busy working and taking their girlfriends (he is implying that people love him and in some cases their girlfriends love him more than their boyfriends) as he says “Lookin’ at my girl like “What a goddess” (thank God)”.

His lyrics are mostly him implying that he takes his opportunity for granted and encourages improvement as said “I had a couple seeds, I made a forest”.the difference between UK grime an drill is that the instrumentals in grime are harsher and faster and lyrics are clearer and the flow is more 7 lines at approximately a staggered formation to the beat. That was the format back in the early 2010s when grime was getting mainstream and the appearance of younger grime artists started coming up causing widespread attention to the genre (young artists could include little t,afghan dan, sofie aspin etc)(most young grime artists are from Blackpool as that is the HQ of BG media,a youtube channel dedicated to young grime stars.)
